GST on Payments Above ₹2000 Made Using UPI:

It’s important to clarify that GST does not depend on the payment method (like UPI) or the payment being above ₹2000. Instead, GST is applied to the value of goods or services being purchased and not on the payment method itself.

So, if you’re making a payment of more than ₹2000 using UPI, the GST will still apply based on the nature of the product or service you’re buying, not because of the payment method or the amount exceeding ₹2000. Whether you pay via UPI, cash, card, or any other method, GST is calculated on the transaction value (the price of the goods or services) and not linked to the mode of payment.

In other words, paying through UPI doesn’t change how GST is applied.
